He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl MacRunnels and Joyce MacRunnels. He is survived by: his spouses, Kathy Prokop and Virginia Munro of Sioux Falls, SD; his children, Chad MacRunnels of Sioux Falls, Michelle Murry of Sioux Falls, Jennifer MacRunnels of Sioux Falls and Brandi Yates MacRunnel (Randall) of Tea; his stepdaughter Vicky Peterson (John) of Sioux Falls; and his siblings, Dennis MacRunnels, Sandy Sherman (Skip) and Glenda. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
