He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Carstens and Iva Elizabeth Carstens (Jaquette). He is survived by: his brother Richard Carstens of Huron; and his cousins, Nina Lisenby of Iowa, Dale Jaquette (Jessica) of Texas, Carol Schultz (Bill) of Texas, Deb Hetle (Paul) of Sioux Falls and Kent Schneider (Lisa) of Huron.
