He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Ekdom and Hattie Ekdom (Visser); his wife Irene of Sioux Falls; his children, Timothy Ekdom of Appleton, WI, Laurel Klamer (Glenn) of Martin, MI, Byron Ekdom (Sheri) of Sioux Falls and Derek Ekdom of Chicago, IL; his brothers, Stephen Ekdom (Gerry) of Orange City, IA and Donald Ekdom of Grand Rapids, MI; his sister-in-law Marie Ekdom of Pipestone, MN; his grandchildren, Melinda Moncada, Holly Klamer (Omer Toktay), Brett Klamer (Huong Nguyen), Jess De Wit (Elliot) and Dane Ekdom (Ashton); his brother Wayne; and his sister-in-law Chris. He was also cherished by 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be directed to the Gideons (Po Box 372, Sioux Falls, SD 57101) or Sioux Falls Christian Schools (6120 S. Charger Cir., Sioux Falls, SD 57108).
