He was predeceased by: his wife Winifred "Winnie" Schell (Lyons); his stepson Michael Cooke; his son-in-law Bruce Turner; his parents, Fred Schell and Lydia Schell (Nusz); and his siblings, Lorraine Nathan (Bill), Glendora Goulding (Tom), Eileen Rose (Tom), Alice Gordon (Verl) and Alvin Schell.
He is survived by: his former wife Winnie (Lyons); his wife Norene Cooke Schell; his children, Michael Schell (Maria), Denise Turner and Heidi Harrison (Bob); his stepsons, Donald Cooke Jr (Sandy) and Tim Cooke; his brother Edgar Schell (Colleen); and his sister-in-law Alberta Schell (Cooper).
