It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velda Kathryn Jerke of Scotland, South Dakota, who passed away on January 15, 2022, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Dobler and Emelia Dobler (Bietz); her husband Emil Jerke; her daughter-in-law Crystal Jerke; and her sisters, Violet Bauder and Esther Weisser.
She is survived by: her sons, Gary (Janice Jerke) of Tripp, SD and Greg (Gloria Jerke) of Flushing, MI; her grandchildren, Kristopher Jerke (Brooke) of Sioux Falls, SD, Heidi Wade (Johnny) of Mission, SD, Amanda Heitzman (Shaun) of Aurora, IL and Stacey Jerke of Grand Rapids, MI; her stepgrandchildren, Matt Stratton (Heather) of Macomb, MI and Wendy Nielubowicz (Dave) of Clarkston, MI; and her sister La Verne Goeken of Scotland, SD. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren.
