It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Donald Schmidt of Scotland, South Dakota, who passed away on October 1, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Schmidt and Bertha Schmidt (Fischer); his wives, Delores Winckler and Carolyn; and his siblings, Reuben and Lucille.

He is survived by: his sister Charlotte Fredrick of Mitchell. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
