We bid farewell to Lorene Ruth Weidenbach of Scotland, South Dakota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 4, 2025 at the age of 98. Lorene Ruth touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, D. Vern Behl and Dorothy Behl (Mitchell); her husband Eugene; her son Delmar R.; her brothers, Donald, Louis and Lawrence; and her daughters-in-law, Leona and Lois.
She is survived by: her children, Jeanette R. Herzog (Frank) of Omaha, Linda R. Pedersen (Leo) of Scotland, Lyle R. Weidenbach (Barb) of Sioux Falls, Paul R. Weidenbach (Pamela Hartman) of Lesterville and John R. Weidenbach (Deb) of Sioux Falls. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; her two sisters-in-law and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Salem Reformed Church (707 S 5th St, Menno, SD 57045). A prayer was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 1:15 PM at the Rosehill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her honor to Scotland Good Samaritan Friends or the Scotland Historical Society, both in Scotland.
