She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Kerkhove and Hazel Kerkhove (Sandstrom); and her brothers, Ed and Rich. She is survived by: her husband Gerald Schmeichel of Salem; her sons, Greg (Connie) of Sioux Falls, Jeff (Heather) of Salem and Nick (Joni) of Brookings; her grandchildren, Codie (Rachel), McKenzie, Hunter, Quinn and Hendrix; her great grandchildren, Carter and Emilyn; and her siblings, Duane, Dave, Ron, Allen, Janice, Linda, Karen and Beverly. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
