It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daniel Schwans of Salem, South Dakota, born in Mitchell, South Dakota, who passed away on July 12, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Schwans (Tom) and Julitta Schwans (Schaefers). He is survived by: his wife Bernardine Schroeder; his children, Troy Schwans (Laurie) of Salem, SD, Jay Schwans (Tesa) of Hartford, SD and Roxanne Schwans of Osprey, FL; his grandchildren, Rachel Schwans, Brittany Kirschenman (Allen), MiKayla Johnson (Mark), Alex McDermott, Jacob Eichacker and Joshua Eichacker; his great grandchildren, Silas, Tobin, Henley Kirschenman, Harlow and Wesley Johnson; his grandchildren, Esmae and Emmy McDermott; his siblings, Ron Schwans (Marilyn) of Ivanhoe, MN, Mary Lohr (Jim) of Ames, IA, Pat Grohs (Ron) of Salmon, ID and Amy Day of Omaha, NE; and his close friend Karen Feterl of Salem, SD. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
