He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Ames and Myrtle Ames (Seeley); his siblings, Jim Ames (Margueritha) and Delores Nielsen (Marvin); his brother-in-law Milton Campbell; and his brother Chester Seeley.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Weston of St. Lawrence; his sister Jeanette Campbell of Clarkston, WA; his children, David Ames (Carol) of Pierre, Amanda Ames of Pierre and Juli Hoftiezer (Ron) of Miller; and his brother-in-law Jim Baysinger of Forestburg. He is also survived by two grandsons; three granddaughters; three great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (610 E 4th Ave, Miller, SD 57362). A prayer was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
