He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gortmaker and Hazel Gortmaker (Gussler); his siblings, Violet Deuter, Karen Ruml, Jerry, Benny, Louis and Jackie; and his nephews, Jerry Allen, Leo and Randy.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Gortmaker of St. Lawrence; his children, Tracy Fink (John) of Mitchell, Trisha Westberg (Randy) of Craig, CO, Nancy of Omaha, NE, Jana of Watertown, Nick (Krista) of Milbank, Jon (Tana) of Parker and Jeff of Mt. Vernon; and his sisters, Lulubelle Schular, Pearl Schlechter, Shirley Sell, Anita Beaner (John) and Rosemary Goodall (Lyle). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
