With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David Stanley Lanz of Saint Lawrence, South Dakota, born in Miller, South Dakota, who passed away on February 11, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Louie W. Lanz; his wife Eleanor Van Den Berg; his mother LaVelle Lanz (Jackson); his stepmother Eva Lanz (Fritts); his parents-in-law, Herman and Lena Van Den Berg; his siblings, LaVelle Rae Chalcraft (Bill) and Louie (Lanz); his son-in-law Gary Russell; his grandson David John Engel; his great grandchildren, Preston Allen Engel and Dillon James Black; his great great grandchild Asher William Burgess; his grandson-in-law Scott Teason; and his brothers-in-law, Max Van Den Berg and Dean Campbell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Leanna Resel (Dale) of St. Lawrence, Vicky Russell of St. Lawrence and Brenda Dedman (Daryl) of Gillette, Wyoming; and his siblings-in-law, Gwen Campbell, Lowell Van Den (Nona) and Marjorie Van Den Berg. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren.
