It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Allen Thompson of Rosholt, South Dakota, born in Veblen, South Dakota, who passed away on May 21, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Thompson and Nancy Thompson; his son Todd Thompson; his sisters, Agnes Behrends and Alice Kluck; and his grandson Max Chacha.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Calvin Griffiths, Colin Griffiths, Ofelia Thompson Gilbert, Ansel Thompson Gilbert, Esme Thompson Gilbert, Brooke Thompson, Zion Thompson, Xolani Thompson and Myles Chacha; his former wife Charlene Thompson; his children, Stephanie Griffiths (Leon) of Olympia, WA, Colleen Thompson (Tobin Gilbert) of Olympia, WA, Justin Thompson of Coon Rapids, MN and Jared Thompson (Lulu); his sisters, Alane Peterson (Gary) and Ann Hanratty (Jerry); and his brothers-in-law, Keith Behrends (Marlene) and Roger Kluck (Kathy). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or your local meals on wheels program.
