He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Schafer and Ardeth Schafer (Collins). He is survived by: his wife Ruth Streich; his sons, Christopher Schafer, Corey Schafer and Dustin Schafer; and his brothers, Lloyd Schafer (Bev), Robert Schafer (Jan), Larry Schafer, Gerald Schafer (Val), Stan Schafer (Barb) and Gene Schafer (Shelly).
