He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Mark and Carol Shaffner (Cunningham); his brother Edward "Butch" Shaffner; his brothers-in-law, Jon Nacke and Gary Gabriel; his nephews, Michael and Darren Gabriel; his sister-in-law LaRita Harrison; his uncle Clyde; his aunt Evelyn Shaffner; and his parents-in-law, George and Ella Kuper.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Kuper; his children, Ashley May Shaffner (Jesse), Laura Schwartz (Brian) and Brent Shaffner (Jamie); his grandchildren, Ellie, Kennedy, Aubree Schwartz and Gabriella Alvarado; and his brother Carl Shaffner (LeEtta).
