He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Nelson and Ruby Nelson (Olesen); his brother Roger Nelson; and his grandson Bryce Kopplin. He is survived by: his daughter Dawn Kopplin (Chad) of Redfield; his grandchildren, Ethan Kopplin of Madison, SD and Emma Kopplin of St. Paul, MN; his great grandchild Savannah Kopplin of Redfield, SD.; and his siblings, Sharon Engen (David) of Oconomowoc, WI and Richard Nelson (Anna Joyce) of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by one niece and four nephews.
