He was predeceased by: his parents, William Baus and Gertrude Baus (Flock); his grandson Nathon Baus; and his siblings, Herman Baus, Lena Hoven, Elizabeth Baus, Eleanor Karst, Margaret Baus, Raymond Baus, Robert Baus, Mary Bitzer and Beatrice Comeau.
He is survived by: his wife Carole Schmidt; his children, Mark Baus of Bridgewater, CT, Tom Baus (Cindy) of Glen Ellyn, IL, Brian Baus of Pierre, SD, Laurie Gabriel (Steve) of Redfield and William Baus (Barb) of Redfield; his grandchildren, Philip Baus, Tori, Alex, Zain Baus, Tom, Nicole, EmmaJo, Nathan Farmen, Renae, Curtis, Gibson, Lincoln Brooks, Tony, Jamie Farmen, Brittany, Jackson, Zoey Halverson, Dexten Doxsee, Bryn Farmen, Oliver Farmen, Brandon, Alysha, Addison, Brody Baus, Andrew Baus, Kara and Kyle Woodward; his great great grandchild Maelynn; and his daughter-in-law Karla Baus of Pierre.
