He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Maynard Fortin and Joyce Fortin (Bebo); his daughter Melissa Understock; his grandchildren, Rylan of Redfield and Maisie (Mason Laursen) of Sioux Falls, SD; his children, Michael Fortin (Cassy Zavadil), Mallory, Mason, Oaklee, Nealee of Mitchell, SD and Amanda Fortin (Blake Dorris); his grandchildren, Dillyn and Joshua of Iroquois, SD.; his sisters, Kim Huber and Dawn Hall; his son Cody Fortin; his grandson Evan Fortin; his sister Deb; his brother-in-law Gordon Schurchhardt; his in-laws, Helen and Richard Lambert; and his siblings-in-law, Dennis Lambert and Deborah Lambert.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Roosters Bar & Grill (424 N Main St, Redfield, SD 57469).
