Melvin Pitz Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 8, 2019, at the age of 83, Melvin Pitz (Redfield, South Dakota) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. Pitz and Mary Pitz (Hansen). He is survived by: his former wife June Cameron; his wife Gloria Paggett; and his children, Debra Weiszhaar (Kent) of Leola, SD, Pamela West (Gerry) of Belle Fourche, SD, Thomas Pitz of Aberdeen, William Pitz of Mitchell, SD, Wayne Pitz (Leona) of Mina, SD and Benjamin Pitz (Emily) of Rapid City, SD. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Merle (Doris) Pitz; one sister, Beverly Bauer; one brother-in-law.
He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and moved to Ipswich Health and Rehab in January 2015; to Groton Care and Rehab in 2017; and to Avantara Redfield in 2019, where he continued to reside until the time of his death.
