With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Margaret (Leesch) Gruenwald of Redfield, South Dakota, who passed away on September 20, 2022 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Leesch and Eulalia Leesch (Robinson); her son William James Gruenwald; her granddaughter Trisha Marie Whitley (Forgey); her great grandchild Baby Buer; and her siblings-in-law, Donald "Kayo" Bohl, Arthur Schaffer, John Gruenwald, Jerry Hansen and Hollie Leesch.
She is survived by: her husband James E. Gruenwald, Jr. of Redfield; her children, Dr. Randall Hoch, Diane Forgey (Scott) of Redfield, Dawn Waldner (Roger) of Redfield, Susan Baxter (Rick Beidler) of Rockham and Sara Peterson (Daniel) of Northville; her grandchildren, Aubrey Schuurmans (Gerrit), Dana Buer (Nathan), Randall Waldner (Stephanie), Rikki Delaney (Marty), Rachel Meyer (Joshua), Megan Rozell (William), Blaise Baxter (Shelby Hauswedell), Danielle Waldner, Jordon Esser (Nicholas) and Dalton Peterson; her great grandchildren, Dylan, Mason, Adrian Whitley, Gerrit, Kolbie Schuurmans, Kamryn Buer, Soren Waldner, Madisyn, Jett Delaney, Hayden and Weston Rozell; her siblings, Barbara Schaffer of Ashton, Angela Hansen of Redfield, Ernest Leesch of Sioux Falls and Deborah Leesch of Redfield; her mothers-in-law, Joan Bohl of Brentford, Judy Fredrickson (Richard) of Zell, Barbara Gruenwald of Napa, California and Jolene Rude (Nick) of Redfield; and her grandchild Honorary Bearers. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the Carnegie Library (5 East 5th Avenue, Redfield, SD, 57469) or St. Bernard's Catholic Church (217 East 6th Avenue, Redfield, SD, 57469) in honor of Margaret Gruenwald.
