He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Smith; his children, Sandy Deiter (Doug) of Faulkton, SD, Rick Michels (Karen Harsh) of Belle Fourche, SD, Patti Yennie (late James) of Sioux Falls, SD and Cherie Buss (Bill) of Redfield, SD; and his sister Joyce Wittenhagan of St. Paul, MN.. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren.
