She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Ford and Hazel Ford (Farnham); her husband Leonard Schmidt; her daughter Penny Lynn Schmidt; her great grandchildren, Markus Gardner-Voegele (Shelley Voegele) and Mackenzie Schmidt (Matt Schmidt); and her brothers, Donald Ford (Ruth) and Roger Ford.
She is survived by: her children, Perry Schmidt (Sandra) of Redfield, Kaye Harr (Kevin) of Rockham, SD and Marla Starr; and her brothers, Jarland Ford of Knapp, WI, Carson Ford of Mellette and Bill Ford of Mellette. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Redfield - Our Savior's Lutheran Church (1514 E 1st St, Redfield, SD 57469).
