It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Erwin James Frey of Redfield, South Dakota, who passed away on November 12, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Frey and Clara Frey (Madsen); his former wife Betty Jensen; his son Jim; his stepson John Rhykus; his son-in-law Steve Moeller; and his siblings, Don, Mel, Bill, Harlan, Marilyn, Anita and Kathi.
He is survived by: his wife Colleen Rhykus; his daughters, Sue Kirby (Lee) of Friday Harbor, WA and Deb Moeller of Watertown, SD; his stepson Dan Rhykus (Sharon) of Sioux Falls, SD; his stepdaughter-in-law Carol DeGidio (Bryan); and his siblings, Larry, Chuck, Clarice and Arlys. He is also survived by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Miller Southside Chapel (7400 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57108). A prayer was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Michael Parish (1600 S Marion Rd, Sioux Falls, SD 57106).
