He was predeceased by: his parents, Wendell Puffer and Lois Puffer (Poe); his wife Lila Shaw; and his son Stephen Whitener. He is survived by: his daughter Mary Lei (Steve) of Sioux Falls, SD; his siblings, Joanne Kopp (Don) of Rapid City, SD, Don Puffer (Jo) of Talent, OR, Dean Puffer of Aberdeen, Dan Puffer (Julie) of Fremont, NE and Diane Stoley (Jim) of Grand Forks, ND.; his siblings-in-law, John Shaw (Lisa) of Creston, IA and Vicki Tassler (Shorty) of Pierre, SD; his grandchildren, Trevor Bultje (Chelsey) of Baltic, SD, Brianna Bultje of Sioux Falls, Bryson Bultje of Sioux Falls, Joshua Whitener (Erica) of Moore, OK, Amanda Wilson (James) of Yukon, OK, Kassandra Lei of Pierre, Matthew Monroe of Sioux Falls and Darrah Monroe of Sioux Falls; and his close friends, Donna Fortin, Jeremiah, Rayna Johnson and Emma Wright. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
