He was predeceased by: his parents, Sheldon Gale and Ellen Mildred Bottum (Ladd); his wife Marlene Schmidt; and his sisters, Geraldine Kasin, Mildred Trongard and Alice Kaye.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Tipton (Doug) of Tulare, Dwight Bottum (Ann) of Tulare and Dennis Bottum (Sylvana) of Melissa, TX.; and his grandchildren, Christian Tipton, Colin Tipton (Charina), Chad Tipton (Stephanie), Tiff Bottum (Anna), Tawny Kaup (Shannon), Nicholas Bottum (Miquette), Cassandra Bottum, Tristan Bottum, Tiara Bottum and Trishia Bottum. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
