Vera Elsie Morgan Obituary
We bid farewell to Vera Elsie Morgan of Rapid City, South Dakota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 16, 2025 at the age of 92. Vera Elsie touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Karge and Hazel Karge (Johnson); her husband Henry "Hank" Morgan; her brother Marvin Karge; her siblings-in-law, Walter Hatch, James O'Dea and Suzie Karge; her grandson Austin Freeman; her nephews, Dale Hatch and Spencer Rawles; and her close friend Bea McCoy.
She is survived by: her children, Violet Copeland (Jim) of Rapid City, Wanda Laver (Rolland) of Crestview and Wesley "Ray" Morgan (Karen) of Rapid City; her siblings, Glen Karge of Melbourne, Florida, Doris O'Dea of Bluffton and Vivian Hatch of Raid City; and her sister-in-law Joyce Morgan (Nellie Karge). She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kirk Funeral Home & Cremation Services (1051 E Minnesota St, Rapid City, SD 57701). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Landmark Community Church (3777 Anderson Rd, Rapid City, SD 57703). She received the 1999 Reed Volunteer of the Month Award; and Volunteer Services with RSVP.
