Stephen Michael Kurek Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Stephen Michael Kurek of Rapid City, South Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 21, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Kurek and Helen Kurek (Treacey); his siblings, Kathleen and Paul; his granddaughter Heather; and his wife Ruth.
He is survived by: his sons, Tracey Kurek (Gemma) and Stephen A. Kurek; his close friend Mary Kurek; and his grandchildren, River Myers (Tosheima), Stephen Schmeltzer (Nikki), Kayla Kurek, Stephanie Kurek, Grace Kurek, Erin Witchey and Nathan Cramer (Samantha). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Behrens Wilson Funeral Home (632 St Francis St, Rapid City, SD 57701). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the VFW (420 Main St, Rapid City, SD 57701). A procession will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at the Black Hills National Cemetery (684 Omaha St, Rapid City, SD 57701).
