With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shorty Sailer of Rapid City, South Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 23, 2025 at the age of 93. He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Sailer and Martha Sailer (Pempeit); his siblings, Walter, Lawrence, Gerhard, Velma, Veona, Vernon, Arnold, Martin, Leila, Gerald and Delbert; his son-in-law Jim Pappert; and his grandson Joel Sailer.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Sailer (Canfield); his children, Sandra Feickert, Shari Pappert and George Sailer (Deb Mayo); his grandchildren, Ryan Feickert, Rick Pappert (Katie), Traci Sailer, Kyla Feickert, Corey Feickert (Amanda), Ceclie Sailer (Eric Bear) and Elizabeth Hardman (Mark Odle); his great grandchildren, Jazmynn Allen (Joe War Bonnett), Amarion Sailer, Junior Allen, Luke Pappert, Adalind Feickert, Avery Feickert, Mackenna Pappert, Coralee Feickert and Landen Green; and his great great grandchildren, Kassian and KaVaughn Allen.
