It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Helen Hellekson of Rapid City, South Dakota, who passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elizabeth Eixenburger and Arthur Eixenburger; her husband Dell Hellekson; her brother Bernard Eixenburger (Bud); her grandson Brian Gross; and her sons-in-law, Gary Gross and James Konechne.
She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Gross of Rapid City, Doug Hellekson (Sheila) of Billings, MT, Robert Hellekson (Janet) and Carl Hellekson (Nancy) of Rapid City.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (520 Cathedral Dr, Rapid City, SD 57701). A wake was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM at the Pine Lawn Memorial Park (4301 Tower Rd, Rapid City, SD 57701).
Memorials can be made to Storybook Island or the Cathedral In Grace and Gratitude building fund.
