He was predeceased by: his parents, Phil Borszich and Adena Borszich (Beck); his great grandchild Stephen Smith; and his son-in-law Douglas Ellison. He is survived by: his wife Joanne; his daughters, Tammy Ellison of Rapid City, Pamela Smith (Mark) of Rapid City, Patricia Sharp (Ken) of Rapid City and Jeanette Lundquist (Travis) of Rapid City; his grandchildren, Heather Chastain (Mike), Christine Smith (Stephen), Brandon Smith, Leslie Wiege (Dan), Ashley Smith, Ken Sharp Jr., Kody Sharp (Becky Thorbjornsen), Jordan Mette (Makayla) and Justin Mette (Courtney Lovell); and his great grandchildren, Brianna, Julia Smith and Boyce Chastain.
