He was predeceased by: his parents, Art Erickson and Helen Erickson; his wife Phyllis Schlottman; and his great grandchild Evelyn Nies. He is survived by: his siblings, Warren, Walter, Morton, Harvey and Lorna; his children, Kim (Thom Norby), Kristin Nies of Spearfish, SD, Jill Erickson of Rapid City, SD and Jay (Ellen Erickson); and his great grandchildren, Elijah Nies, Adelaide Nies, Timothy Nies, Benjamin Nies and Dakota Nies. He is also survived by four grandsons.
A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Christ Church (1900 Evergreen Dr, Rapid City, SD 57702). A graveside service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 9:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cornerstone Mission or the Veteran's Banner Project.
