He is survived by: his wife Marcia F. Peterson; his children, Ron Peterson (Jodi) and Dana Luxem; his stepchildren, Steve Lundeen (Gretchen), Marin Schultz (Todd), Seth Lundeen (Meaghan) and John Mark Lundeen (Autumn); his brothers, Dale Petersen (Susie), Dennis Petersen and Neal Petersen; and his former wife June Peterson. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
