We are sad to announce that on December 14, 2024, at the age of 72, Alvin Dale Pinkston of Rapid City, South Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin E. Pinkston and Jean Pinkston (Nichols); and his brother Jim Pinkston. He is survived by: his wife Lilibeth Pinkston; his children, Jason Pinkston of Jefferson City, MO, James Pinkston of Jefferson City, MO and Janie Pinkston of Licking, MO; his stepchildren, Mike (Grace) of Los Reyes, Janna Sawyer (Chasse) of Box Elder, SD and Joyce Bradshaw (Aldex) of Custer, SD; and his sisters, Ellisa Pinkston-Naumann of Merced, CA, Patricia Osborne (Greg) of Battlefield, MO, Kathryn Pinkston Rockwell of Dallas, TX and Sandra Starbuck (Robert) of Melbourne, Australia.. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Kirk Funeral Home & Cremation Services (1051 E Minnesota St, Rapid City, SD 57701). A rosary was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (520 Cathedral Dr, Rapid City, SD 57701). A burial was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785). A reception was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Shepherd's Meadow Club House (1717 E Philadelphia St, Rapid City, SD 57703).
