With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Roy G. Swanson (Pukwana, South Dakota), born in Chamberlain, South Dakota, who passed away on March 29, 2019 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Swanson and Ella Swanson (Gerald); his siblings, Dorothy Glasser and Don Swanson; and his grandson Derek Swanson.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda; his children, Gail Gunderson (Dave) of Chamberlain, Craig Swanson (Peggy), Kim Swanson (Donna) of Rapid City and Barry Swanson (Debbie); and his grandchildren, Jenna Vaad (Travis), Brianna Burden (Brent), Wade Gunderson (Leah), Trent Swanson (Lynn), Jason Swanson (Taya), Alisha Vincent (Buster) and Amber Dodson (Mike). He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the United Church of Christ, Chamberlain, SD; St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Ola, SD or the Swedish Lutheran Cemetery, Ola, SD.
