He was predeceased by: his parents, Irving Johnson and Alma Johnson (Petersen); his wife Leatrice Houska (Lee); his brothers, Donald Johnson and Dellas Johnson; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Johnson and Marian.
He is survived by: his daughter Vicki Koopal (Todd) of Geddes, SD; his grandsons, Beau Koopal (Mandy) of Harrisburg, SD and Brady Koopal (Taylor) of Platte, SD; and his great grandchildren, Devyn, Brienna, Blaire Koopal of Harrisburg, SD, Raegan and Riley Koopal of Platte, SD.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (500 Pennsylvania Ave, Platte, SD 57369). A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The inurnment was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Platte City Cemetery.
