He is survived by: his children, Jonathan, Michelle Karst (Todd), Nicolle Jennings (Jeff) of Marshall, MN, Matthew Schmidt (Darcie), Kimball, Jonathon Schmidt (Casey), Catherine Schmidt and Elizabeth Morrison (Justin) of Mitchell, SD; his sisters, Mary Potter and Margaret Koenig of Fairfax, SD; his siblings-in-law, Cheryl Schmidt of Plymouth, MN, Larry Speck (Sheila) of Billings, MT and Linda Clark (Alan Baysinger); and his close friend Dina "Pudge" Shefner.
