He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Kuyper and Grace Kuyper (Groeneweg); his sons, David Lee and Douglas Kuyper; and his daughter-in-law Karla Kuyper.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Mae Houtkooper; his children, Daniel Kuyper (Melanie) of Madison, Carson Kuyper of Chancellor, Dwight Kuyper (Julia) of Hudson, Dawn Veurink (Dan) of Stickney and Darcy Kuyper of Stickney; his daughter-in-law Nonie Kuyper of Sioux Falls; his siblings, Duane Kuyper (Mary), Ken Kuyper (Carol), LaVonne Blackman and Eunice Walz; and his sister-in-law Mavis Veurink. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
