She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Swanson and Clara Swanson (Schutl) of Gettysburg, SD.; and her brothers, Marvin and Jim. She is survived by: her husband Robert A. Walton; her children, Shane, Robert (Kendra), Carmen and Tammy; her grandchildren, Robert Lee and Amber; and her siblings, Ted and Lorraine. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial has been established to Twin City Animal Shelter in Lead, SD.
