We are sad to announce that on October 5, 2019, at the age of 84, Thomas C. Adam (Pierre, South Dakota), born in Deadwood, South Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Jessie; his stepmother Bessie; his parents-in-law, Governor George T. and Madge Mickelson; his brothers, William and John; his siblings-in-law, Janice Carmody and Governor George S. Mickelson; his nephew Jack Carmody; and his great-nephew Michael Carmody.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Bykowski (Bruce) of Eden Prairie, MN, Paula Adam-Burchill (Thomas) of Sioux Falls, SD, Karlton Adam (Joan) of Pierre, SD and Sarah Axtman (Greg) of Harrisburg, PA; his grandchildren, Matthew Bykowski (Ashley), Bennett Bykowski (Katherine), Carter Bykowski (Adrianna), Connor, Nolan, Maxwell Burchill, Katherine Danforth (Eric), Conrad, Jack, Phillip, Paul Adam, John and Eric Axtman; his great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Luke and Brody Bykowski; and his siblings-in-law, James Meyers of West Lafayette, IN, Linda Mickelson Graham of Sioux Falls and Therese Adam of Spearfish, SD. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; sister.
The family suggests memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Pierre, SD, the South Dakota State Historical Society, or The Trail of Governors Foundation.
