He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Bowles and Alice Bowles (Wester); his wife Pat (Burley); his sons, Sammy and Clovis; and his brother Steve (Catherine Sulzle).
He is survived by: his daughters, Maria Kraft of Onida, Linda Bowles of Ft. Pierre, Susan Bowles of Pierre and Shawn Bowles of Ft. Pierre; and his siblings, Tom, Louis "LeRoy" Spaid and Erma McGee. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
