He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph E. Oliva and Florence I. Oliva (Zobrist); his brothers, Gerald F. Oliva and Donald "Gene" Oliva; and his siblings-in-law, Marion Oliva (Emley), Elizabeth "Beth" Flagstad and Don Anderson.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Jo "Maggie" Flagstad of Driver's License Division; his children, Steven Oliva (Jessica) of Pierre and Amy Larson (Todd) of Pierre; his grandchildren, Rhen Fierro (Kimmie), Corie Jastram (Tim), Spencer Oliva, Bailey Fierro, Thomas Oliva, John Fierro, Katrina Davidson and Kathryn Oliva; his sisters, Shirley Krivitz (Rich) of Surprise, AZ and Sharon Smith (Merle) of Oshkosh, WI.; and his siblings-in-law, Anne Anderson of Broomfield, CO, Judy Flagstad of Sioux Falls, SD, Jane Peterson (Harland) of Britton, SD, Bruce Flagstad (Kathy) of Sturgis and Charles Flagstad (Echo) of Florida. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Feigum Funeral Home (808 W Pleasant Dr, Pierre, SD 57501). A rosary was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM.
