He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Schellenbach and Hildred Schellenbach (Tegland); his pet Carla; his wife Clarice Harvey; his daughter Apryl; his grandson Vic Vincent Verhelst; his siblings, Don Schwellenbach, Delores Schlenker, Mary Henley (William) and Phyllis Burkhalter (James); and his siblings-in-law, Jay Harvey, Eldon "Short" Harvey, Norman Britigan, Ella Mae Greenwood (William), Irma Everts (Ronald), Carla Itson (Vernon) and Gelina Nelson (Jill).
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Verhelst, Steven Schwellenbach, Stan Schwellenbach and Brenda Sletten (Lynn); his grandchildren, Kori Rolfes (Donny), Quynn Verhelst, Megan Ulrich (Christopher), Melynda Larsen (Lance) and Tanner Sletten (Casea); his great grandchildren, Dylan, Apryl, Walker and Watson; his siblings-in-law, Darlene Schwellenbach, Barb Harvey, Emeline "Kay" Britigan, Ilah Harvey and Raymond Schlenker; and his pet Bert.
Memorials will be given to Lutheran Memorial Church and Meals on Wheels and can be sent to the family at 515 E Missouri Avenue, Pierre, SD 57501.
