He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Emery Shantz and Alvira Shantz (Deiter); his wife Holly Shantz; his children, Gary Shantz of Minneapolis, MN and Jacki Stemper (Dennis) of Zell, SD.; his grandchild Jessi Whitley (Kirk); his great grandchildren, Dawson Loren and Aniston; his stepchildren, Brad Vieth of St. Peter, MN, Dena Loher (Dave) of Anoka, MN and Paul Vieth (Kalla) of Mitchell, SD; his grandchildren, Whitney, Austin, Adam and Alex; his siblings, Jerry Shantz (Marlene) of Pierre, David Shantz (Eva) of Monticello, AK, Paul Shantz (Gleann) of Zell, SD and Maryann Pinard of Redfield; his sister-in-law Sharon Shantz of Redfield; and his brother Terry Shantz.
