He was predeceased by: his parents, Catherine Ellenbecker (Ivory) and Walter Ellenbecker. He is survived by: his wife Teri D'Amour; his children, Dave Ellenbecker (Sheli) of Sturgis, Jim Ellenbecker (Laura) of Pierre, Dr. Jon Ellenbecker (Jenny) and Stephanie Vandel (George) of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Dr. Tyson Ellenbecker (Nikki) of Sioux Falls, Austin Ellenbecker (Grace) of Spearfish, Nathan Ellenbecker of Baltimore, MD, Daniel Ellenbecker (Sierrah) of Pierre, Ethan Munson (Olana), Simon, Sarina Ellenbecker of Sioux Falls, Ayden, Nolan and Makaylah Vandel of Sioux Falls; his great grandchildren, Oliver Ellenbecker of Spearfish and Cora Ellenbecker of Sioux Falls; and his siblings, Bill (Cindy), Richard (Kathy), Jim (Kathy) of Sioux Falls, Julie Roche (Jack) of Mahtomedi, MN, Mary Althoff (Rick) of Sioux Falls and Margaret Jergenson (Steve) of Omaha. He is also survived by his six siblings.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Helmsley Cancer Care Center at Avera St. Mary's Hospital or Avera Hospice/Homecare.
