He was predeceased by: his father Peter "Pete" Buchholz Jr.; and his grandparents, Peter Buchholz Sr., Myrtle Buchholz, Charles McKay, Phyllis McKay (Travis Bales), DJ, Barb Johnson and Chance Veurink.

He is survived by: his wife Stacy Boardman; his daughters, Jenna Moeller (Clifford Monroy) of Pierre and Alena Heilman of Huron; his stepsons, Alex Ingram and Kryon Schmidt of Pierre; his mother Joan Buchholz; his stepsister Jami Anthony; and his pet Iris Rose. He is also survived by relatives, in-laws, friends.
