He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hillmer and Ethel Hillmer (McIlravy); his parents-in-law, Vernon and Hazel Adams; his siblings, Ellis (Bev), Dale (Jo), Gary, Clyde, Ivan, Marjorie Hillmer, Dixie King (Bob) and Karen Yellow; and his siblings-in-law, Daryll Stuart and Maxine Adams.
He is survived by: his significant other Peggy Adams; his children, Vance Hillmer, Nickol Penrod (Jay) and Zachary Hillmer; his grandchildren, Daniel Avon (Rebecca), Darion Hillmer, Merissa Hillmer (Elliot), Damien Hillmer (Kandace), Trevor Penrod (Angel), Trinity Hillmer, Evie Klucas, Ronin Hillmer, Ruby and Maddie; his great grandchildren, Aiyana, Apollo and Artemis; his siblings, Rex Hillmer (Deb) and Mary Lou Stuart; and his sisters-in-law, Francie Larson, Nell Hillmer and Alice Hillmer. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
