He was predeceased by: his father Robert Sage. He is survived by: his mother Carol Sage (Sansted) of Sioux Falls; his son Dalton; his siblings, Virgena Wieseler (Dennis), Teri Jung of Pierre, Marlayne Sage of Sioux Falls and Curtis Sage (Kristina) of Freeman; and his former wife Karen Perry of Pierre. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“Darwin was the "little brother" of my friend Virg in McIntosh. He was always trying to pull one over on us girls. We spent many hours together at the gym, track field and football field as we were all involved in sports and band in one way or the other. He was a handsome dude and he excelled in all of his activities. Darwin was always fun to be around and could make anyone laugh with his jokes and antics. Rest in peace Darwin. You will be missed.
