He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Eugene and Beula Hester Sterling (Williams); his wife Carolyn Sterling; his son John C. Sterling; his brothers, Paul Sterling (Joyce) and Stanley Sterling; his siblings-in-law, James Williams, Robert Williams (Sharon) and Gwen Hoffer; and his great grandchild Allie Jo Luhman.
He is survived by: his daughter Karen Sterling; his daughter-in-law Patricia Sterling; his siblings, Judy Row and Tony Sterling (Robin); and his siblings-in-law, Joan Sterling and Dan Hoffer. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
