She is survived by: her husband Lance; her daughters, Megan Meier of Miller, SD and Morgan Weyers (Austin) of Hay Springs, NE; her grandson Forrie Weyers; her pet Woody; her father Allen Hanson of Ree Heights; her siblings, Rick Hanson (Cindy) and Deb Litzen (Rob); and her mother-in-law Deanne Hertel. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. John's Catholic Church (206 Main Ave, Fort Pierre, SD 57532).

“I am so sorry to hear of Amy's passing. She was a very special person to me in my younger days. I will never forget her huge smile and positive outlook. She could always see the good in everything. I also admired her drive to live life as large as she could. I have often thought that I should reach out to her and catch up. I now regret that life is short and that we didn't make that happen.
