He was predeceased by: his parents, Wade Powers and Allie Powers; and his son Richard Powers. He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Powers of South Dakota; his children, Billie Jean Sheen of Utah, Joseph Michael Powers (Donna) of Kentucky, Diana Lynn Lawson of Byron, James Powers (Janie) of South Carolina, Janette Carter (Kevin) of Macon and Mark Powers (Donna) of Macon; and his sister Shelby Jean Nixon of Virginia. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
